A.A. NEWMAN of Clay county died of heart failure Thursday of last week in the
streets of Clay Center. He was an original alliance man, represented Clay county
three terms in the legislature, was chairman of the People's party county
committee and a member of the board of directors for the penitentiary. He was a
power with his party and will be missed.
