PICKETT, of near Enosdale, Washington County, Kansas, was born in Henry county, Iowa, October 28, 1877 and died at the home of his cousin, Wm. Pickett, near McDonald, Rawlins county, Kansas, May 3, 1898. His parents moved with him and his brother, Thomas H. Pickett, form Henry Co., Iowa to Washington Co., Kansas in 1869. His father, Samuel M. Pickett, died in 1890. On June 22, 1892, he was married to Miss Linda L. BABER, daughter of the late Rev. J.I. Baber, of the United Brethren church, Clifton, Kansas. Deceased was a nephew of William H. BEESON and O.S. Pickett, of Rawlins Co., Kansas. Some years ago he was converted and was connected with the Friends church. Was very happy just before he died and expressed himself as willing and ready to go. He was a very affectionate husband and father and leaves a devoted wife and two bright little girls to mourn the loss. Also leaves a mother, sister and half brothers in Oklahoma. Funeral services were conducted by the writer and we laid him to rest in the McDonald cemetery. B.F.
