Hettie M. RAPLEE was born June 29th, 1830, in Starkey, Yates County, N.Y. She
united in marriage to Joseph Raplee March 29, 1846, and died at the home of her
son, Byron Raplee, in this city June 21st, 1906, at the age of 75 years, 11
months and 21 days. Three children were born to her of which only one survives
her. She moved with her husband from New York state to Michigan in 1873 and came
to Kansas in 1880 and to Washington in 1884, where hse has since resided. The
funeral services were conducted from the home of her son and were in charge of
Rev. Clardy assisted by Dr. Hageman. She had been a sufferer from dropsy for
quite a while and everything that kind and loving hands could do was done for
her and her last moments made as comfortable as it was possible to make them.
The Register extends the sympathy of the entire community to the family.
