On Nov 25, 1866, at Leavenworth, Kansas, she was united in marriage to John REYNARD. To this union were born eight girls and three boys, nine of whom are living: Mrs M L CHAMPLAIN of Jamestown, Kansas, mrs J W DEAN of San Francisco, California, R C REYNARD of Douglas, Arizona, Hattie REYNARD of Greenleaf, Asa REYNARD of Concordia, Kansas, Lyla REYNARD of Omaha, Nebraska, W W RENARD of Douglas, Arizona, mrs John WAL of Omaha, Nebraska, and Mrs Marie SHORT of Greenleaf, Kansas. When a little girl, she was baptised in the Baptist church. They moved to Greenleaf, Kansas, April 1, 1877, where she lived until death claimed her April 24, 1913, aged 63 years, 11 months and 6 days. She leaved to mourn her loss a husband, nine children, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two brothers, Charles and Frank DRUMMONDS of Kansas City Missouri. Funeral services were conducted at the M E Church Sunday by Rev E C THORP. The following songs were sung: "Home of the Soul," "Asleep in Jesus", and "Abide with Me." The pall-bearers were J DARGITZ, O W COOK, A F ARNOLD, W H BARLOW, Nels NELSON and C A SCOTT. The remains were laid to rest in the Mt james cemetery. - Before coming to Greenleaf, Mr and Mrs REYNARD located at Salem Nebraska, where Mr REYNARD began railroading, and it might be added that he has railroaded over forty years, twenty-seven of them being in Greenleaf, September 3rd 1865, Mr REYNARD drove the first stake for a railroad at Denver, Colorado. At that time he could have bought the main business lots in Denver for $5 or $10 each and thinks he could have purchased the whole town for a hundred dollars, but he did not think the town ever would amount to anything. - CARD OF THANKS We wish to extend our thanks to all who assisted us so nobly during the sickness and death of our wife and mother also for the many beautiful floral offerings.
