SMITH was born in Lake county, Ohio in 1842, and was at the time of his death 62 years and nearly six months old. In 1862 he enlisted in the 105th Ohio infantry and served as a valiant soldier until the close of the war of the rebellion. After the war he removed to Michigan and subsequently to Minnesota, from which state he came here in 1876 where he has since resided, practicing his profession. He had several admirable attributes being generous to those in need and especially kind and indulgent to his family. His wife, who was, previous to her marriage with hime, Miss Ellen F. CASE, still survives him; also three children, Mrs. Blanche DARBY, Dr. H.D. SMITH, and Ora SMITH remain to mourn his loss. The incident surrounding his death are deplorable and as we stated in the prior issue of the Register the funeral was attended by a large number of citizens of the city and couty and the remains were interred in the city cemetery. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/washington/obits/s/smith1029ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
