Last Saturday at 2 o'clock the body of Godfrey THOMAS was found hanging to a tree on the farm of G. GUNDLEFINGER. Mr. Thomas was a German, unmarried and about thirty years of age. He had no relatives here and had been working out wherever he could get employment. The last time seen alive was five weeks ago, when he went to Mr. Gundlefinger's farm near Hanover and applied for work. Mr. Gundlefinger had nothing for him to do, he sttod for some time as though in deep meditation and walked on. From the looks of his body when found he had been hanging for some time. No letter or evidence of any description was found throwing and light on why he suicided, but sickness and despondency drove him to it. An inquest was held Sunday and the jury returned a verdict that he suicided. This is the fourth suicide near Hanover in the past year, and all Germans. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/washington/obits/t/thomas772gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.5 Kb
