Mrs. Emma WERNER was born in Atchison Sept. 28, 1867, the first daughter in the family of Henry and Barbara MEYER. At the age of 15 she was converted and united with the Evangelical church and was a faithful and devoted Christian form that time up to her death. She was married to Jacob WERNER April 6, 1887, in her father's home five miles south of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Werner moved on their farm near Linn, and were among the happy and prosperous people in their community. They had four children, two boys and two girls, bless thier home, now motherless, who will be kept by their grandparents. Mrs. Werner wa a sister of Mrs. August SOLLER of this city, and was a good wife, a loving mother and a good neighbor. She departed this life Friday, May 15, after a brief illness. Her funeral was conducted by Rev. GOBIAS Saturday, May 16, and a large number of friends were present to pay their last respects to the deceased. Her body was laid to rest in Washington cemetery. She leaves as mourners, her four children, a husband, father and mother, four sisters, and one brother.
