Mahaska.

A surprise was in store for the city in the shape of a wedding. On Saturday,
Jan. 30, Miss Dora MERRITT and Mr. Merril HATCH were joined in marriage, Rev.
BEAR officiating. Miss Merritt has been for the past few years a faithful
teacher in the city schools and is held in high esteem by scholars and parents.
Mr. Hatch is a prosperous well-to-do farmer, of type that always finds success
in life's pursuits. All join in wishing them a happy and a pleasant future.
