The Yates Center News Thur Jun 24, 1880 pg 3
             Dedication
   The new M. E. Church at Pleasant View, six
miles north of Yates Center, will be dedicated
on June 27th, 1880. The opening sermon will be
preached on Friday 25th, at 8 o'clock p.m. The
Presiding Elder will conduct the service on
Sunday. Rev. S. E. Pendleton has been invited
to preach the dedicatory sermon on Sunday at
11 o'clock a.m. A number of the preachers of
the South Kansas Conference will be present.
The Trustees of the church deserve much 
praise for their faithful labors in bringing
the church to completion. Those attending the
meeting on the Sabbath had better bring their
baskets and not go home until the afternoon
services are over. Come and enjoy the 
religious feast.
