                  KALIDA
   Saturday we visited what was once called Kalida,
or City of Beauty, but now-alas!-she is called the
City of Digout. The glory has departed out of her
forever. She has let go the breath of life, and
will no longer cling on to existence, but she will,
with her departing breath, try to breathe the breath
of a new life in the future great city of Yates Center. 
We were informed the Kalida House would be moved to
the Center this week, and also other houses, which
will make a grand total of six houses in the new
city! We do not suppose Mr. Davidson can look upon
this movement with a great deal of favor, but he
seems to have worked and done all he could--played
his game for all it is worth, but lost.
   George Wille will move his store, and so will
James Wolfer, which will give the new town a
start and Kalida a parting kick.
