                DIED
   Stewart-At the residence of Fred Stewart in
this city, on Friday, Feb. 24, 1888, William
Stewart, aged 69 years, 1 month and 29 days.
   Mr. Stewart was born in Belmont co., Ohio,
Dec 25, 1818 He removeod to southern Illinois
in 1855, and in 1866 he removed to Kansas and
settled in this county where he has resided
continuously since. He was one of the oldest
citizens of the county, there being but 12 men
now living in this county who were here when
he first made it his home. He lived a quiet
life, and was honored and respected by all who
knew him. The funeral services were held at the
Presbyterian church on Sunday, the 26th ult.,
Rev. James Wilson officiating, after which the
remains were interred in Graceland cemetery.
