William A. Gerding, 82, Kansas City, KS, died Thursday, Jan 17, 2002 at
Providence Medical Center.  Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday, Jan 22, at
the Meyers Family Funeral Home, 6300 Parallel Pkwy, Kansas City, KS; burial in
Chapel Hill memorial Gardens, 94th and State, Kansas City, KS. Friends may call
5-7 pm Monday, Jan 21, at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made
to the American Heart Association, 6800 N. 93rd St., overland Park, KS 66212.
Mr. Gerding was born July 20, 1919 in Bethel, KS.  He was a member of Zion
United Church of Christ, the National Association of Letter Carriers.  He was a
letter carrier for over 20 years, retiring in 1986.  He farmed the family farm,
which was purchased many years ago from the Delaware Indians, from his youth
until the time of his death. he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anna
Gerding, of the home, a son, Daniel W. Gerding, Shawnee, KS, two daughters,
Nancy A. McCabe and her husband Ronald of Kansas City, MO, and Joyce E. Willis,
Olathe, KS, two granddaughters, Kristi Halvorson and Michelle Willis.
