Dooley, rjdooley23@aol.com Submission Date: 13-Aug-2004 Source: not identified Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 15, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home for Earon WHEELER who passed away on August 12. Mr. Wheeler was the son of the late Tildon and Lillie Wheeler of Adair County. He was a job setter for Detroit Diesel, Allison Company, in Indianapolis, Indiana for 33 years. He was a US Navy World War II Veteran, a member of the Methodist Church in Indianapolis, a member of the United Auto Workers Union #933 and a member of the VFW Post 6097 in Columbia. Mr. Wheeler is survived by: His wife, Florence Deardorff Wheeler of Columbia Two brothers, Jay Wheeler of Chance, and Charles Wheeler of Wilmington, Illinois One half brother, Avery ENGLAND of Chance One sister, Redia OSBORNE, of Louisville One half sister, Jewel REECE, of Columbia Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven, in 1970; a sister, Regina LOY, in 2003, and several half brothers and sisters. Clergy officiating at the Sunday afternoon service will be Rev. Carlis WILSON and Rev. Elbert HADLEY. Interment will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the gravesite by VFW Post 6097. The family requests visitation after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
