County Adair term 1860 December 14, 1859 ~ I, James B. Craig of Adair Cty and State of Kentucky being feeble in body but of sound mind, and memory, and knowing the uncertainty of human life do in the name of God Amen make this my last will and testament in the manner and form following (Towit) First I give and bequeath my Soul and Body to God who gave them to me. Second after all my burial and funeral expenses and just debts are paid I give to my beloved wife Margaret E. Craig all of my estate both real and personal until my youngest child arrives at the age of twenty one years, then her legal share yet upon this condition that my son Robert O Craig be permitted to live on the farm and all work together as one family until the youngest child is of age or should my widow marry before that time then she is only to have her legal share of my estate the rest to be divided among my six children as follows~ I give to my son James B Craig a negro man named Henry but he is to pay to the estate two hundred dollars. To the other five children (to wit) Joseph M Craig, James B. Craig, Nancy B. Craig, Ann T Craig and Elizabeth B. Craig I give the residue of my estate to be divided equally among them first giving to my daughters Nancy B, Ann T, and Elizabeths B Craig one hundred dollars each. Lastly should anything of her dower be left at the death of my widow I wish it divided equally among my six children named in this will~ Given under my hand &c Witnesses James B Craig George Yates Lewis F Walker James H Wilmore Additional Comments: Transcription of will of James B(eaver).
