All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/kyfiles.html ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Janet King JPerdue192@aol.com February 12, 2009, 4:27 pm Bounty Land Application State of Kentucky County of Allen On this 24th day of May 1855 personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid, Jesse Perdue aged 62 years a resident of the County of Allen in State of Kentucky who being duly sworn according to Law Declares that he is the identical person who served as a Fifer in the Company commanded by Captain William Pepper in the (4th he thinks) of Virginia Volunteer, Militia commanded by Col Kountz in the War with Great Brittian declared in the year 1812, and continued in actual service in said War for the term of at least 14 days that He has heretofore made application for bounty Land under the act of September 28th 1850. To which he has legally disposed of and cannot now return. He makes this declaration to obtain the bounty land to which he may be entitled under the act of Congress approved the third day of March 1858. He further declares that hes not received nor applied for bounty land under this or any other act of Congress except as above stated. Jesse Perdue (seal) We Samuel Swaringer and John N. Fitzpatrick residents of the County of Allen State of Kentucky upon our oaths declare that this foregoing declaration was signed and acknowledged by Jesse Perdue in our presence, and that We believe from the appearance and Statement of the applicant, that he is the identical person he represents himself to be and that We have no Interest in this claim. That the claimant is the person he represents himself to be, and that I have no interest in this claim Wm. Mansfield J. P. A. C. State of Kentucky Allen County I certify, that William Mansfield Esq Before whom the foregoing declaration & affidevit was made is & was at the time of taking the same and as being Justice of the Peace within & for the County and State aforesaid duly commissioned and qualified and that his signature to the foregoing certificate is genuine.
