Jeremiah STARK donated the original land, school built in the early 1800's. Teachers included: Mrs. Minnie GRUBBS, Miss Betty POPE, R W WILSON, MInnie PITCHFORD, Lorenda BRUNSON, Lucy WAE, Lola OSBORNE WEAVER, Elizabeth HALEY, Pearl WILLIAMS, Zelma OSBORNE ERWIN, Lilah WHITW, Mary WALKER, Inez HALEY, Ida Nelle TABER, Mary Lou HARRIS and Louise ROWE. Trustees included: Buel BUCHANAN, Basil LEWIS, Frank MOREHEAD, Bud SHIELDS, J W GRUBBS, W D BURTON, C C STARK, M WHITNEY, Thomas STARK, T GIBSON, Sr., R L MOORE and Lee WILLIAMS. A class photo of 1936 shows Mary Lou HARRIS, teacher, and the following students: Charles TAPP, Everett STINSON, Gerald LEWIS, Harold WOODS, Marilyn STINSON, Gerald STINSON, Loretta SHIELDS, Velma SHIELS, Margaret LEWIS, Reba STINSON, Hoyt Ray SHIELDS, Roger BUCHANON, Dorothy STONE, Peggy WOOD, Mildred TURNER, James Howard LEWIS, Veachel SHIELDS, Violet JONES, Mayme WOOD, Anna Lee LEWIS. There is an undated photo of the school with the Masonic Lodge on the 2nd floor and those shown include: Joe WEAVER, Ewing OSBORNE, a HURT, Bill OSBORNE and a lot of unknowns. These appear to be all adults, not students.
