ALLEN COUNTY, KY SCHOOLS MEADOR HIGH SCHOOL Submitted by Sandi Gorin April 18, 2001 MEADOR HIGH SCHOOL This school was located 1/4 mile from the MEADOR Store on the current Hwy 101 North. The community center is now located there. Original land was donated in 1922 by the Trigg MOORE's. School began before the school building was completed in a tenant house on the Will TABOR farm in Aug of 1923. Mary Alan LANDRUM was the teacher there. First year students were: Carson HINTON, Gradie MITCHELL, Raymond OSBORNE, Lois JOHNSON, Paul STOVALL, J Ernest STOVALL, Ruby CONNER, Maggie OLIVER SHIELDS, Elizabeth GENTRY CASSADY, Zelma OSBORNE ERWIN, Ila OSBORNE ERWIN, Myrtie OSBORNE ERWIN, Jewell HINTON, Lola OSBORNE WEAVER and Lottie OSBORNE HOLDER. The high school building became an elementary school when it was consolidated with Oak Hill and Motley in 1941. The building burned in 1951. Teachers at the high school included: Mary Alan LANFRUM, Anna WALKER, Virgie LLOYD, Kate DONHAM, Gertrude LOBB, Edith PEARSON, Noka HOOD, Viola WAGONER EASTER, Herbert EASTER, Lola OSBORNE WEAVER, B O HINTON, Walter KNIGHT, Elvin OSBORNE and Willard COCKRILL.
