The oldest records found were in 1896. Teachers included: A F BROWN,D W CLAYBORNE, W L GRAHAM, Mollie SLATE, R E YATES, Herbert DOUGLAS, Fannie BROWN, J J ALEXANDER, Alma MAYHEW Marcum, Ethel CLIBURN WILLIAMS, Era WAGGONER Silver, Rora BROWN, Herbert DOUGLAS, Evie COOK, Bascom NAPIER & C H EASTER. Pleasant Hill and Edgefield Schools were combined in 1926. A new school was built 3 1/2 miles from Scottsville and named Pleasant Field. Trustees for Pleasant Hill from 1986-1911 included: J E BRADLEY, J E BROWN, W T MORGAN, William McENTIRE, J A HOLLAND, John FOSTER, William Penn BROWN, Armster DEVINE, W C BROWN, J K MORGAN, J R MORGAN, C L BROWN & Tillen GARRISON.
