These electronic pages may not be reproduced in any format or presentation by other organizations or persons.Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for profit or any form of presentation, must obtain the written consent of the file submitter, or his legal representative and then contact the listed USGENWEB archivist with proof of this consent. ************************************************************************* This Indenture made this fifteenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine, between William Noble and Hannah his wife of the one part, and William Mountjoy Snr of the other part both parties of the County of Anderson State of Kentucky Witnesseth that the said Noble and wife for and consideration of the sum of One hundred and eight dollars to them in hand paid by the said Mountjoy, the receipt is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey to the said Mountjoy and his Heirs a certain tract or parcel of land containing six Acres scituate in the County aforesaid on the East side of Hammonds creek being a part of the fifty six acre tract sold to me by Thomas Arbuckle and adjoining the lands of said Mountjoy and bounded as follows (to witt) Beginning at a stone in the middle of the creek, thence East 13 poles to a Sugar Hickory and white oak thence North 60 poles to two Ironwood saplings thence West 19 poles to a stone in the middle of the creek thence South down the creek with the meanders to the beginning. Together with its appurtenances to have and to hold to him the said Mountjoy and his Heirs forever, the said Nobles for themselves their Heirs &c doth hereby warrant and forever defend the said six Acres of land be the same more or less to him the said Mountjoy and his Heirs forever against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In witness the said William Noble and Hannah his wife have set their hands and seals the day and date above written Signd seald & deliverd Wm Noble (Seal) in the presence of Hannah x Noble (Seal) Commonwealth of Kentucky Anderson County Sct I Nelson C Johnson Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid, do certify that this deed from William Noble and his wife Hannah Noble to William Mountjoy Senr was produced to me in my Office, on the 19th day of September 1829, by the said grantors, and acknowledged by the said William Noble, to be his act and deed; And the said Hannah Noable being examined by me, privily and apart from her husband declared that she did freely & willingly seal & deliver the said writing & wishes not to retract it & (p. 326) acknowledged the said writing, again shown & explained to her, to be her act & deed, and consenteth that the same may be recorded.
