Anderson County, KY - DEED: JOHN & MARY RAY to Edward Sherwood, 1832 May 1, 1999 Submitted by: phill@redrock.net (Phyllis Hill) ANDERSON CO, KY Land and Property Deeds, Books A-B Book B, p. 392 John Ray Sr. & Mary his wife of Edgar Co, Ill 27 Sep 1832 This Indenture made and entered into the 27th day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and thirty two, between John Ray and Mary his wife of the county of Edgar and State of Illinois of the one part, and Edward Sherwood of the county of Anderson & State of Kentucky of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Ray and wife for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said Edward Sherwood the Receipt is hereby acknowledged, have given, granted, bargained and sold, delivered Released enfeoffed, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do give grant, bargain and sell, alien, Release, enfeoff, convey and confirm unto the said Edward Sherwood and to his Heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land, situate lying and being in the said County of Anderson and State of Kentucky and on Salt River, and bounded as follows, towit. Beginning on the Banks of Salt River, at three white oaks thence up the different meanders of said River to three Beeches at ... of a Branch thence up said Branch North thirty Eight degrees West forty two poles to an Elm tree standing in said Branch corner to Thomas Buntin's thence North fifteen degrees East forty poles to a Beech Ironwood and Dogwood Sapling, thence North thirty Eight degrees West Seventy poles to a white Oak, Sugar tree and Beech, thence South forty degrees West one hundred and thirty two poles to the Beginning Containing by survey one hundred acres, be the same more or less, and all the estate Right title Claim interest and fee of them the said John Ray Senr and Mary his wife of in and to the same To have and to hold the said land tract parcel of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging, unto the said Edward Sherwood and to his Heirs and assigns forever, and the said John Ray Senr and Mary his wife do covenant and agree with the Said Edward Sherwood and with his Heirs and Assigns that they will and their Heirs ...
