The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ******************************************************************* Book A, page 336 This Indenture made & entered into this 21st day of No. 291 September in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight Weatherspoon hundred and twenty nine between James Searcy of the to } Deed one part of the County of Anderson & State of Kentucky Searcy & L J Wetherspoon of the aforesaid County & State of the other part, Witnesseth that the said L J Wetherspoon for & in consideration of the sum of Fifty Examined dollars to him in hand paid by the said James Searcy the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and thereof doth release & discharge the sd James Searcy hath this day granted, bargained & sold & by these presence doth grant bargain sell & confirm unto him the sd James Searcy delivered to his heirs Executors and Administrators forever a certain Henry Searcy tract or parcel of land containing twentynine & one fourth Apl 10 1830 acres lying in the aforesaid County on the waters of Kentucky river, bounded as follows Viz. Beginning at a Gum corner to Paxtons survey running North with Paxtons plain & ancient marked line 37 1/2 degrees West 24 poles to a stone marked LJW thence N 12 degrees E. 118 poles to a white oak & cedar corner to Vincent Bogguss and running with his original and ancient marked line thence South 45 degrees East 22 poles to 2 Sycamores on the river side thence up the meanders of the same S 60 poles thence S 15 degrees East 40 poles, thence S 34 degrees East 38 poles to 2 Beech trees on the river side, thence North 80 degrees West 58 poles to the beginning, with its appurtenances; to have & to hold the sd tract or parcel of land, with its appurtenances to the said James Searcy his Heirs Executors & Administrators forever, and all the estate, right, title and interest of him the sd Wetherspoon of in and to the premises unto him the said James Searcy his Heirs Executors & Administrators forever and do warrant and defend against the claim or claims of myself my Heirs Executors &c. In witness whereof the said L J Weatherspoon hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day & date first above written L J Wetherspoon (Seal) Commonweath of Kentucky Anderson County Sct I Nelson C. Johnson Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesdaid do certify that this deed from Lewis J Wetherspoon to James Searcy was produced to me in my Office by the said grantor, on the 21st day of September 1829 and acknowledged by the said S J Weatherspoon to be his act and deed.
