Obit: Sam Hook dead, Paducah Dailey News, Oct 6, 1890 Submitted by: Betty Feigenbutz Copyright 2002 Betty Feigenbutz ======================================================== It will grieve the many friends of Mr. Sam Hook, who lived in East Ballard County, between Lovelaceville and Hinkleville, to learn that he died of Saturday last from paralysis. The intelligence will be sadder because of the fact that the numbness came quite suddenly, the deceased having been ill but a short while when his soul took the flight. The News is without any data of his life but it is know he was the eldest of the well known and respected Hook brothers-Samuel, Robert S. and James H., the later of this city and resided here about 65 years, and had lived many years in Ballard County. He was not only a worthy gentleman, but a farmer who had won distinction because of his success, especially in the raising of tobacco, his fine crop of the weed giving him quite a reputation. A wife and a large family- three sons and five daughters - are left to mourn his death. With these as many acquaintance throughout Ballard County and in this place will deeply sympathize. The funeral occurred yesterday afternoon, the burial being at the family graveyard and many friends were present. ************************************************************************ USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
