Bill PEDEN, of this place, lost a fine young mule last week, supposed to have died of distemper. Roseville is certainly improving as fast as it can. Three new dwellings have been erected in the past few months, also one blacksmith shop. Apr 15, 1900 - Walnut Hill correspondent: Mr. Ike OWEN and famly were visiting Mr. John HIGDON near Beckton Sunday. Miss Florence ANDERSON, of Etoile, was the guest of Miss Mamie MARTIN last week. Mr. Charles OWEN, who has been sick for some time, is reported some better at this writing. Mrs. Lucy E MARTIN has about recovered from an attack of the measles. Master Walter and Fred BIRD have the same disease. We have meeting at Walnut Hill every Sunday, except the fourth. Revs. J M ENGLAND preaches the first; GODBY the second, and ROGERS, the third. Ad for Electric Bitters by ROGERS, LEECH & ELLIS. Miscellaneous news: Messrs RAWLS & PYLES, of this place, will in a few days open up a meat store in connection with their grocery store here. Ad for ALLEN's Foot ease. Mr. Jack BOWMAN, of Monroe county, was in the Bend last week, seeing about the school. Mr. Dix McCOMAS had a fine horse to run into a wire fence Saturday and was seriously cut. Messrs John C CARY and Jam. WHITE visited Mr. Cyrus W CARY of Washes Bottom, last Sunday. Mr. M C GITTING, of Center Point, is very low with lung trouble, and is not expected to live long. Mr. Joe PITCOCK and wife, of Monroe county, visited relatives and friends in the Bend Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Bob McCOMAS has had the farm which he bought some time ago from Mr R B CLOYD for $2250, greatly improved by running a wire fence around it. Miss Lucinda BRITT, an aged lady of the Oil City country, died at her home near that place of old age, Monday. Caused a Sensation: Munfordville, KY., April 19 - Quite a sensation was desveloped here when Mr. S G WILKERSON, a prominent attorney of this place, was arrested on a warrant sworn out by his brother, James WILKERSON, charging him with the betrayal of the latter's daughter. James McCORKLE is also implicated in the matter. When McCORKLE heard of this he boarded a train for Louisville, but was apprehended at Elizabethtown and returned here for trial. (Louisville Times).
