Two former citizens of Hart Co killed in a railroad wreck in Arkansas (special to Hart Co Record of the week before). A S B MEERS of Conway, Arkansas wrote that he had been traveling through the west on the Oron Mountain RR and near Pine Bluff where a wreck had occurred. He asked about the wreck and was told that four people had been killed - three men and one woman and two of the men were from Hart Co. According to the RR company one of these men was J B MOPIN of Cave City and the other was C E McINTEER of Powder Mills. The RR Co said they had sent notice to the post offices that these two towns but as yet had not heard from anyone. Geo DUGARD killed on his father's farm near BAILEY's Store about 9 o'clock last Thursday morning. Young DUGARD had been helping his father cut down a tree; while attempting to run from under the tree when it began to fall; he got excited and ran in the wrong direction. He was caught under it and crushed to death. He was a s/o Seth W DUGARD, was about 19 years old, very popular in his neighborhood and highly respected. Ex-Governor IRELAND died suddenly at his home in San Antonio TX last Saturday - formerly of Hart Co. Had left KY and gone to TX; elected to the State Legislature there, then to the Supreme Court; and was twice Governor of TX. Lynn PULLIAM and Miss Alice ADAMS of Glasgow Junction [Park City] eloped to Jeffersonville IN last Thursday. Bride is a d/o Squire J H ADAMS. Miss Hallie MAYS, d/o Jos MAYS, died at her father's at 6 o'clock last Friday morning.
