OBIT: Winston Browning, 1934, Barren Co. ------------------------------------------------------------ Submitted by E-mail Registry submittor Sandi Gorin Date: 11 Sep 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: I have no connection, no further information and am not seeking additional information. "Mr. Winston Browning died at his home near Cedar Grove, Saturday, at the age of 59 years, leaving four brothers and one sister, Messrs. J.C. A, L, Charlie and Bob Browning and Mrs. Ben Carter. "Inquiry has failed to develop anything mysterious in the death of Browning despite much street gossip and conjecture yesterday attributing his death to some "mysterious" strangers and their alleged "operation." "Coroner Johnnie Dearing stated yesterday afternoon that he had not been called, despite the fact that he had diligently inquired into the matter, and Mr. A. F. Crow, undertaker who buried the body, claims that he did not notice anything irregular about the body, and that the certificate showed the death had resulted froma hemmorhage of the brain. "The only conclusion is that a rumor, unreliable though it may be, has resulted in an attempt at cheap, sensational journalism, much to the embarrasment of the decedent's family, who have the sympathy of their many friends in their recent bereavement." Winston Browning 24 Feb 1875 - 17 Mar 1934 Unknown Glasgow (KY) newspaper, found in old scrapbook. ************************************************************************ Copyright.
