Found in files of the late researcher, Eva Coe Peden.
"Mr. J. W. Brooks died July 26, 1908. Formerly of this place but late of Bowling 
Green. Age 87. Son: E. B. Brooks of Austin section. He was a son of Jimmy Brooks, 
a Baptist preacher. Interred Odd Fellows Cemetery."

Glasgow Municipal Cemetery
J. W. Brooks - 30 Fec 1834 - 27 Apr 1918

Note difference in dates. Unable to verify which is correct.
