Name: Dr William Howard Bryant Residence: Glasgow KY Died: Monday, 16 May 2005, T J Samson Community Hospital, age 85. Born: 10 June 1919 Hiseville KY Son of the late Ernest and Banks Howard Bryant After graduation from Glasgow HIgh School, entered the University of Louisville School of Medicine and received his Medical Degree in 1942. After graduation from medical school, entered the armed services and served as a physician with the U S Army in the Philippines for 23 months during WW II and achieved the rank of Major. He then returned to Glasgow and entered into private medical practice as a surgeon. He was very instrumental with his uncle, Dr C C Howard, in establishing the Howard Clinic in Glasgow and was very dedicated to family practice. He was also on the staff of T J Samson Community Hospital where he once served as Chief of Staff. He remained active in his practice until his retirement in 1993. He was appointed to the first Board of Directors of the Glasgow Electric Plant Board in 1958. At the first meeting he was elected chairman, a position he held continuously for 35 years until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Glasgo! w and served in many capacities including elder, trustee and chairman of the board.
