Joe Carver died yesterday at his home on the Knob Road. He was a true and loyal friend. "The writer was out to see him last week, and he said he was ready and willing to go. He expressed a desire not to be buried in the oil field; so by order [pieces missing], for whose father [pieces missing] when she was a little girl, he wanted to be put away in the Glasgow cemetery. "He liked poliltics, and always had a choice. He was always for Bob, Thomas, and only a few days ago nominated him for president. His epitaph might be: "He lies Joe Carver; he left no worldly goods, but left an honorable name and many friends to mourn his death; and no better democrat ever lived" Signed Old Reb Further information: His name was Joel Yancy Carver and he is buried in the Kilgore plot at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
