W.W. Franklin 1920 Barren County KyArchives Obituaries Unknown and undated Glasgow KY newspaper "THE DEATH OF DR. W. W. FRANKLIN, MONDAY. Dr. W. W. Franklin, one of the best known of Glasgow's older citizens, died at his home here Monday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock. "Death was caused by infirmities of old age, the deceased being in his 77th year. "Surviving are Mrs. Franklin, the wife, and Misses Mattie Franklin, of this place, and Alyne Franklin, of Chicago. "For years Dr. Franklin was one of the prominent fine horse raisers of Barren County, and had a statewide reputation as an authority on fine horse-flesh. He was also an old Confederate soldier, with a brilliant record, and was known all over the country by a host of people who esteemed and loved him. "He was a devout member of the Christian church of this place, from which place the funeral service will be held at two o'clock this afternoon, after which interment will be in the Glasgow cemetery."
