Glasgow (KY) Republican, Thursday, 16 Feb 1967. 
"Word was received here Monday of the death of Mrs. Joseph A. Gaines, widow of 
the former pastor of the Glasgow Baptist Church, who passed away in Glasgow in 
April 1941.

"She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert Carroll O'Brien; a son Joe Gaines; 
and several grandchildren, nieces and one great-grandchild.

"Funeral and burial services were held Wednesday afternoon in Shelbyville and 
Bagdad, respectively."
