Glasgow (KY) Weekly Times, 29 Apr 1896.
"Mr. J. M. Garnett died at his home here Friday night of last week, after only 
a few hours illness. Dropsy of the heart is pronounced the cause of his death 
by the attending physicians. Jim Garnett was born and reared in Glasgow, and 
was known to nearly every man, woman and child in Barren county. For a number 
of years he was in business here, but of late had not been engaged in any 
pursuit. He was a genial, companionable nature, and had many friends here and 
else-where over the State who will sorrow to hear of his death. Mr. Garnett was 
thirty-six years of age at the time of his decease."
