Son of: George B and Golda Bridges Matthews, decd.
Lived in Barren Co until about 15, moved with family to Indianapolis, IN. US
Army veteran of WW II where he fought in the Pacific Theater. Member First
Baptist Church in St. Marys, was retired from Cytec Industries.
Survivors:
Wife of 52 years: Virginia Laidley Matthews
Son: Allen and wife Addene of Hartselle, AL
Daughter: Becky Adams and husband Mark of St Marys.
Grandchildren: Shannon West, Kaylee and Macie Adams, Brandon, Joshua and Amanda
Matthews
Great-granddaughter: Mallory Dawson
Brothers: George Lee of Indianapolis, IN and Jessie Paul of Glasgow.
Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 11 am Saturday, 5 May 2001, church in St Marys, burial St Marys IOFF
Cemetery.
