Died: Tuesday, 1 December 1998, Mobile, lengthy illness, 73.
Born: El Dorado, Arkansas
Began medical practice 1957, retired 19889. Was Mobile's first cardiovascular
sepcialist and first to perform open heart surgery in Mobile. Received his
bachelor of science degree in medicine and his M.D. from the University of
Arkansas School of Medicine in 1949. Member of the AMA and certified by the
American Board of Surgery; Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and
American College of Chest Physicians, founding member of the American College of
Thoracic Surgeons.

Military: Served both US Navy and US Army.
Son-in-law of the late Sam and Ruth Sears of Glasgow, KY.
Survivors: Wife, Barbara Sears Murdock, formerly of Glasgow
Children:
Sue Ellen Reed of Glasgow
Cathy Priester of Germantown, TN
Church Elwood Murdock III, Mobile, AL
Sister: Sarah Jane Moore, Lynchburg, VA
6 grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, 12 December 1998, 2:30 pm 1st Presbyterian Church, Glasgow -
memorial service. No burial location shown.
