"A FEELING of regret and deep sorrow was occasioned the whole community lst 
week by the death of Mrs. Josephine M. Nuckols, the wife of Dr. George 
Nuckols, which occured on Wednesday, the 9th inst. Her illness was of short 
duration, and a fatal termination was entirely unlooked for by a large number 
of her friends. The shock experienced by them upon her sudden death was very 
great. She was in her twenty-fifth year, and had been married just three 
months. Young, accomplished and lovely, rich in all those traits that make her 
sex admired and loved - yes, more, possessessed of all those attributes that 
characterizes a true woman, she held in the tenderest affeciton by her family 
and a large circle of friends.

"After an impressive funeral sermon, preached by Rev. L. E. Campbell at the 
residence of Mr. James Depp, the father of the deceased, Thursday evening, the 
remains were followed to theirfinal resting place in the family burying ground 
by a large concourse of friends, who testified to the high estimation in which 
the deceased was held by them, and their heart-felt sympathy with the grief-
stricken husband and family."
