"THE DEATH OF MRS. FLORENCE MARSHALL PITCOCK. Mrs. Florence Marshal Pitcock, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Marshall, of this place, died at her home in Temple Hill, Ky., Monday, August 12th, after a lingering illness of several months. Mrs. Pitcock, was first taken ill with influenza, other complications set it and she grew gradually worse until the end came. "Mrs. Pitcock was born and reared at this place. She was thirty five years of age and an accomplished and beautiful woman. Her kind and loving disposition made friends for her of all she met. In her school days she was a favorite of her school mates, and loved by her teacher and neighbors. She graduated from the graded schools and later entered as a student in the Louisville City Hospital; where she graduated with honors as a trained nurse. From that time up to the time she was married, about one year ago, she followed her profession, every ready with a loving hand and kind words to serve the suffering she was called to nurse. She had been a devout member of the Baptist church for many years, and her untimely death cast a shadow of sorrow in every home in this community. "Besides her husband she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Marshall of this place, two sisters, Miss Lydia Mae Marshall, of Byron, O., and Mrs. R. Swoveland, and one brother, Mr. E. J. Marshall, of Chattanooga, Tenn. All her family were at her bedside at her death. "The funeral services were conducted at her home, after which the remains were laid to rest in the family lot in the cemetery at Glasgow, Ky."
