He was 79 years of age. "A son of the late Harlan and Sara Peden, he was born and reared near Glasgow and had spent his entire life in farming in the Goodnight section for the past nineteen years. "He was a Democrat of the old school and had been a subscriber of The Times for more than 50 years. He took an active part in all elections and was widely known throughout the county. He was a member of the Baptist Church. "Mr. Peden was married to Miss Janie Rogers, daughter of the late Mr. Charlie Rogers, who survives. Mr. and Mrs. Peden recently celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary. "Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Mr. Will Peden; two daughters, Mrs. Sallie Smith, Owl Springs section, Miss Mabel Peden, at home; three half-brothers, Messrs. Ed and Lucian Peden, of Russellville; Bonnie Peden of Canmer; a half-sister, Mrs Nellie Walton, Canmer, and a sister, Mrs. Minnie O'Neal, of Wallington, Kansas. "Funeral services were held Tuesday, 1 p.m. at the Peden residence in the Goodnight section, the Rev. Walter Church in charge. Burial was in the Glasgow cemetery."
