OBIT: Fred Russell, 1914, Barren Co. ------------------------------------------------------------ Submitted by Sandi Gorin Date: 31 July 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: I have no connection, no further information and am not seeking additional information. "PROMISING YOUNG BOY DEAD "Master Fred Russell, the eight-year-ol son of Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Russell, died Saturdaymorning about nine o'clock. He had been confined to his bed for the past month and death was due to acute peritonitis. "Brief funeral services were conducted Monday at the residence by Rev. W. M. Seay. The remains were taken to Glasgow for burial. The parents and several friends accompanied the body. "Fred was an unusually bright boy and gave promise of making a man of exceptional qualities and rare ability. He was pointed out by old and young as a manly little fellow. At school he was studious and apt and ranked with the favorites. He was a devout member of the Baptist Sunday School. "He made a hard fight for life and submitted willingly to anything his nurse and physician desired to do. Though young, he realized the advantages the future held for him, and his ambition made him cling the harder to life, but through it all there is One who knows best. The bright little boy is free from the sorrows and temptations of this world and rests safely with Him who said, "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdon of Heaven." - Russellville Times, March 28."
