Name: Rev James Wesley Rayburn Residence: Glasgow KY Died: Friday, residence, age 91 Born: 22 Aug 1890 Green Co KY Retired Methodist minister. Licensed to preach in the Methodist Church in 1912. Became a circuit-riding pastor when he was appointed to the Russell Springs circuit in 1918. Admitted on trial into the Louisville Conference ministry in 1921 at Scottsville, he later was pastor of churches in Tompkinsville, Monticello, Greensburg, Louisville, Glasgow, Scottsville, Brandenburg and Hodgenville. From 1944-1948 he pastored the First Methodist Church in glasgow. After his official retirement, served as chaplain at the State Tuberculosis Hospital and also pastored at East Main and New Salem United Methodist Churches. Active in the First United Methodist Church as pastor emeritus. Married to Clara Wisdom 8 Nov 1918 who preceded him in death in 1972.
