Samuel Marshall REDFORD - 14 Apr 1867 - 14 Jan 1940 "Mr. Samuel Marshall Redford, 72, retired farmer, died at the home of his brother, Mr. S. E. Redford, on East Main Street Sunday morning around 11:30 o'clock. He had been in ill health three months. Death was caused by asthma and complications of diseases. "A son of the late Mr. Spotswood Silas Redford and Mrs. Addie Carter Redford, he was born April 14, 1867, near Haywood. He had been engaged in farming practically all his life and had resided in many sections of the county. "Prior to moving to Glasgow three years ago to stay with his brother, he resided on the farm of Mrs. Julia Emerson in the Beckton community. "In early manhood he professed faith in Christ by uniting with the Beaver Creek Baptist Church and later moved his memberhsip to the Glasgow Baptist Church. He was never married. Besides Mr. S. E. Redford, this city, he is survived by two other brothers, Messrs W. H. Redford, Columbus, Ind., and Clyde Redford, Roberts, Ind. "Funeral services were held at the Redford home Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clck, the Rev. J A Gaines and Rev Sam Ed Bradley in charge. Burial was in the Glasgow cemetery.
