Henry Clay REYNOLDS - 2 Nov 1891 - 24 Apr 1939 "Henry Clay Reynolds, 47, a veteran of the World War, and resident of Cave City, died at the Veteran's Hospital near Dawson Springs Monday around one p.m. He had been receiving treatment at the hospital there seven months, and underwent an operation there three weeks ago. "A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Reynolds, he was born and reared in the Cave City section. Practically all his life had been devoted to farming, except for the time he served in the army. When the World War began Mr. Reynolds was one of the first to go overseas from Barren county. He served arond eighteen months overseas. Mr. Reynolds was widely known over Barren county, and his death is mourned by a host of friends. "Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Asthore Smith Reynolds, daughter of Judge and Mrs. W. S. Smith, of this place; Miss Willia Reynolds, a daughter, and three sons, Messrs Lawrence, Robert and John Russell Reynolds; a brother, Mr. Birdie Reynolds, three sisters, Mrs. Jerry Smith and Mrs. Lovie Isenberg, Cave City, and Mrs. Lizzie Steenbergen, of Scottsville. "Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two at the Christian church in Cave City with Rev. Downing in charge. Burial was in the cemetery at that place."
