"D. J.Shipley died at home on Grandview Avenue. Born and reared in
Kingsport, Tenn.; moved to Barren Co. 23 years ago; part owner of S.
D.Hardin Lumber Co. Survivors: wife Ida Shipley, daughters: Mrs. Pearl Duval
of Glasgow; Misses Ethel and Ruby Pearl Duvall. Son: James Edward Shipley,
all of Glasgow. Brother: Tom Shipley of Kingsport, Tenn. A half brother:
Orge Shipley of Atlanta, Ga and two half sisters: Mrs. Sue Jackson of
Kingsport, Tenn; and Mrs. Minnie Tucker of Jonesboro, Tenn. Interred Glasgow
Cemetery."
