Miss Nellie Bird Stevens, the young daughter of Mrs. Poca Stevens, died at her home in Hiseville, Saturday in her twentieth year. She had been very ill for eighteen days with spinal meningitis and succumed to the disease Saturday. This splendid young lady was just budding into young womanhood and was a loveable and admirable character. Her sad death will be proufoundly regretted by her wide circle of friends and loved ones. She is survived by her mother and one sister and one brother, who are: Miss Hattie Stevens, of Hiseville, and Mr. Henry Stevens, in the U. S. Army, and stationed at Texas City, Texas. The noble young woman as a devout member of the Baptist Church. Rev. Hall conducted the funeral services in the Baptist Church Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, after which the remains were interred in the cemetery at Hiseville."
