I. C. SMITH DEAD. Hon. I. C. Smith died at his home near Dry Fork, in the south-eastern part of the county, yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock, of Bright's disease, from which he had been a sufferer for several weeks. No man who ever lived or died in Barren county was more highly esteemed by those who knew him that Mr. Smith. He was a mosel [most?] Christian gentleman in every sense of the word, and though his death had been expected for several weeks, it will be learned with the sincerest sorrow by his friends eerywhere. In religion Mr. Smith was a member of the Christian church, and a local preacher of more than ordinary ability. In politics, he was a Republican, and once represented this district in the State Senate. "The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. C. E. Powell at Mr. Smith's late home, near Dry Fork, today at 1 o'clock and the remains will be interred in the family burying ground immediately afterward."
