Name: Alicia (Lisa) Ann Flener Short
Residence: Louisville Ky
Died: Monday, 20 Feb 2006, residence in Louisville after a lengthy battle with 
leukemia, age 51
Formerly of Cave City KY. 1972 graduate of Caverna High School, 1977 graduate 
of the US College of Pharmacy. Received a Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy) from the 
University of Kentucky in 1989, was a pharmacist at Nunn Drugs in Edmonton from 
1976-1979; staff pharmacist at St Francis Hospital (Greenville SC) from 1979-
80; clinical pharmacist and director of clinical services at the University of 
Louisville Hospital from 1980-2006. Most recently, her work included the design 
and development of the Computer Physician Order Entry (CPOE) Project and the 
University of Louisville Hospital. She was named the 2005 Outstanding Hospital 
Pharmacist of the Year in KY. She was a board member of the Louisville Metro 
Health Department, member of other professional organizations including the Ky 
Pharmacist Association and the KY Society of Hospital Pharmacists. She was 
assistant clinical professor for the U of L Department of Surgery and an 
instructor for the UK College of Pharmacy. She authored several publications 
for the Pharmacy Department and the Surgery Department of U of L. Member of St. 
Matthews Baptist Church, active in her Sunday School Class, former member of 
the Cave City Church of Christ. Enjoyed scrapbooking, cooking, attending her 
son's school activities and athletic events and U of L football and basketball 
games.

Husband of 26 years: Dr Kerry Short
Sons: Adam, Tyler, Ethan and Will of Louisville
Mother: Jean Flener of Cave City
Sister: Denise Minor and husband Jackie of Glasgow
Brothers: Alan Flener and wife Gaye of Glasgow, Burt Flener and wife Candace of 
Lexington KY
Mother-in-law: Irene Short of Glasgow
Sister-in-law: Marcia Wilson and husband Gary of Smiths Grove KY
Four nieces, seven nephews.
Preceded also in death by her father: Lonus A. Flener
Services: Thursday, 23 Feb 2006, St Matthews Baptist Church in Louisville and 
Friday, 24 Feb 2006 at the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ in Glasgow, burial 
Cave City Cemetery. A F Crow & Son Funeral Home of Glasgow in charge of local 
arrangements.
