"DIED IN KANSAS. Died at her home in Roxbury, Kansas, on the 2nd inst., Frances Ann Tolle, in her 79th year. "She was born and reared in Barren county in the Oleoak neighborhood. She was a granddaughter of John Peden, one of the four brothers who settled on Fallen Timber Creek near the Glasgow and Temple Hill road in the early part of the last century. Her paternal grandfather was John (Jack) Matthews, one of the first settlers of the Oleoak country, who is still remembered by the old citizens of that section. "Mrs. Tolle was married to William A. Tolle, of the same vicinity several years before the Civil War. A few years after the close of the war, they migrated to Kansas, where the family has resided ever since. "Several children were born to this union some of them are dead and some are living. In addition to the survivors of her immediate family, there are four brothers and three sisters, who survive her: John A Matthews, Homer Matthews, of the Oleoak country; Marcellus Matthews of Tracy, all of Barren; and Isiah Matthews,of Kansas. The surviving sisters are: Mrs. Allen Quick, and Mrs. S. F. Tolle of Kansas, and Mrs. J. W. Pursley, of Oleoak. Her hsuband has been dead several years."
