"Friends here have been advised of the death of Mrs. Maude Witty, former 
resident of Glasgow, at her home in Jacksonville, Fla., Monday, March 10. She 
was the wife of Mr. Jack Witty, who engaged in the insurance business here for 
some time. The Wittys have been residing in Florida several years.

"News of her passing evoked general expressions of grief among her many friends 
here. She was a devout member of the Methodist Church and was active in 
religious circles while residing in Glasgow.

"Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Mr. Lawrence Witty, of 
California, Rev. Robert Gee Witty, pastor of a large Methodist Church, at 
Jacksonville, Fla., who is heard in daily radio broadcast from that city. Both 
of her sons attended the city schools here.

"Funeral and burial services held in Jacksonville, with Rev. C. F. Wimberly, 
Columbia, S.C., and one time pastor of the Glasgow Methodist Church, in charge.
