SUBMITTED BY NANCY STULL 4-30-2004 showme49@mchsi.com ************************************************************************************************************************* Bath County, Kentucky, Deed Abstracts and Transcriptions Book A (1811-1816)(FHL Film # 272981) p. 351 Know all men by these presents that I, Rane Chastain, of the State of Virginia and County of Buckingham, have made, ordained, constituted and appointed, and by these presents, do make, ordain, constitute and appoint Joel Parker and Asa Maxey of the State of Kentucky and County of Bath my true and lawful attorneys for me and my name and for the use and benefit of the children of Thomas Maxey, deceased (who intermarried with my daughter Lydda Chastain) to wit: Asa, Rhoda, Anna, Calvert, Thomas and Rane Maxey to rent, ask, demand, sue for, recover and receive all and every such rents and arrears of rent as are now due or may become due from my tenant or tenants or occupier of a certain parcel or tract of land whereon Thomas Maxey, deceased, lived, lying on Slate Creek in the State of Kentucky and County of Bath and also for my said attorneys to prosecute for me and in my name all persons whatsoever trespassing on the aforesaid lot or parcel of land and for the nonpayment of the same rents and arrears of rent or any part thereof for me and in my name, to give aquitances and discharges for the same and the monies so by them received immediately thereupon to pay to the said Asa, Rhoda, Anna, Calvert, Thomas, and Rane Maxey, children of Thomas Maxey, deceased, or their representatives or to my order and further to do and execute all and every other lawful act and acts needful for recovering and receiving and obtaining of the said rents and arrears of rents for the premises or any part thereof put to the use aforesaid as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes as if I was personally present hereby notifying and confirming whatsoever my said attorneys shall lawfully do or cause to be done in and about the premises.
