SUBMITTED BY NANCY STULL 4-30-2004 showme49@mchsi.com ************************************************************************************************************************* Bath County, Kentucky, Deed Abstracts and Transcriptions Book B (1816-1819)(FHL Film # 272982) p. 192 This Indenture made this 2nd day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen between James Hazelrigg of the County of Bath and Commonwealth of Kentucky one the one part and Joshua Hazelrigg and Eli Hazelrigg of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Hazelrigg for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold to his two sons Joshua and Eli Hazelrigg all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Bath and Commonwealth aforesaid on waters of Somerset and Flat Creek containing one hundred acres be the same more or less including all improvements thereon and bounded as follows (to wit): Beginning at a buckeye corner to the said Joshua Hazelrigg, thence north with Small and McGinness lines one hundred and sixty poles to a hickory which is in Robinson’s line, thence east one hundred poles to an elm corner of the said Eli Hazelrigg, thence south one hundred sixty poles to a stake in the said Joshua Hazelrigg’s line, thence west with said line one hundred poles to the beginning, it being part of two surveys, one of 1,000 acres in the name of John Fleming and the other in the name of Jeremiah Moore for upwards of 1,000 acres To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land to them the said Joshua and Eli Hazelrigg their heirs and assigns forever and the said James Hazelrigg for himself his heirs executors or administrators the aforesaid tract or parcel of land to them the said Joshua and Eli Hazelrigg and their heirs or assigns doth and will forever defend against him the said James Hazelrigg his heirs and all persons claiming under him unto the said Joshua Hazelrigg and Eli Hazelrigg their heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said James Hazelrigg hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. James Hazelrigg. Bath County This Indenture of bargain and sale from James Hazelrigg to Joshua and Eli Hazelrigg was this day proven before me by the oaths of Thomas Fletcher and Elizabeth Richards witnesses thereto subscribed to be the act and deed of him the said James Hazelrigg for the purposes therein contained whereupon the same is truly recorded in my office as the law directs.
