!DEED Bath County, Kentucky, Land Deed Book P, page 260-261 This indenture made and entered into this 5th day of September 1848 by and between Robert Wickliffe of the county of Fayette and State of Kentucky of the first part and Charles Whittington of the county of Bath and state aforesaid of the 2nd part. Witnesseth the said party of the first part by virtue of a decree of the Bath Circuit court in the case of Charles Whittington, ___ agent Charles Whittington et al, them directing the said party of the first part to convey the tract of land herein after described to the said party of the second part and the further sum of one dollar to me in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, and sold and by these presents doth alien and convey unto the said party of the 2nd part the following tract or parcel of land lying in the county of Bath and on the waters of Rose Run and bounded as follows. Beginning at Samuel Harts Corner thence S 65 degrees 30 poles to a black ash, thence S 18 degrees, W 69.5 poles to two small red oaks and dogwood corner to Mayse. Thence with Mazes line 51 W 69.7 poles to Hart Corner a stake on the west bank of a branch thence with Harts line N 44 degrees, E 33.7 poles to a stake in said branch thence N 68 degrees, E 27 poles to the beginning containing 20 acres. To have and to hold unto the said Charles Whittington his heirs and assigns forever and the said party of the first part will forever warrant and defend the title to said tract of land unto the said party of the 2nd part forever.
