!DEED Bath County, Kentucky, Land Deed Book S, page 262 This indenture made and entered into this 31st day of January 1853 by and between Charles Whitington and Susan Whitington his wife of the 1st part and Simpson Riggin of the second part all of the county of Bath and State of Kentucky. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and ninety five dollars in hand paid and to be paid the party of the first part has this day sold and doth by these presents sell, alien, and convey unto the party of the second part and his heirs forever the following described tract or parcel of Land situated, Lying and being in the county and state aforesaid and in the town of Owingsville and bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at the north west corner of the Lot conveyed by J. H. Richard to Robt Stewart by deed bearing date Jany 1853 thence nearly west with the Owingsville and Big Sandy Turnpike road about 170 feet to the agreed corner between party of the first part and D C Jones thence nearly south with Jones' line to second street of Owingsville thence with second street eastwardly to Stewarts Corner thence with Stewarts line to the place of beginning being the same Lot of land purchased by J H Richard by his deed of Jany 1853 By said Whitington to have and to hold to the party of the second part and his heirs forever free from the claim or claims of any and all persons and the party of the first part by these presents bind themselves to forever warrant and defend the title of the same to the party of the second part and his heirs against the claim of any and all persons whatsoever. Chas Whitington, Susan Whitington State of Kentucky, Bath County, I R H Conner Clerk of the county court for the count aforesaid do certify that this deed from Charles Whitington and Susan Whtington his wife to Simpson Riggin was this day acknowledged before me by said Charles Whitington and Susan Whitington to be their act and deed.
